TE Connectivity Launches Redesigned EV Charging Cable Assembly for Type 1, 32A
DARMSTADT, Germany – October 8, 2015 – TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity, announced the launch of its redesigned electric vehicle (EV) Charging Station Cable Assembly for Type 1, 32A featuring a new and improved housing design with an ergonomically designed handle to fit security enclosures.
The EV charging station cable assemblies offer high mating cycles and magnetically operated activated solid-state switches, as opposed to a mechanical switch, allowing for an increased life expectancy. The Type 1 charger assembly meets SAE J1772 specifications, is UL recognized per UL 2251, and is RoHS compliant. Designed with the end user in mind, materials provide a crush-resistant connector body, meet outdoor classification F1 (UL) and are resistant to common automotive fluids.

- Individual contact seals prevent moisture and potential corrosion of the crimping zone
- Increased lifetime with magnetically operated solid state switch
- Each contact has a separate housing seal providing a higher safety level than heat shrink by preventing moisture inside the connector body and corrosion of the crimping zone
- Latch, inlet lock capable wide enough to meet the SAE spec for inlet locking
- Redundant integrated cable seal meets SAE J1772 and prevents moisture inside the connector body.
