TE Connectivity Highlighted Components for Outdoor Lighting Applications at Light + Building Show

HARRISBURG, PA., USA – April 4, 2016 – TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, highlighted the ease of use, performance and reliability of numerous components it offers for outdoor lighting applications at the 2016 Light + Building Expo in Frankfurt, Germany, which took place from March 13 to 18. Principal focus was on its NECTOR M Sealed Power System and the Multi-channel Photocontrol Dimming Receptacle.

The NECTOR M Sealed Power System is designed to provide a pluggable connectivity solution for outdoor and harsh environments. The NECTOR M Sealed Power System is a modular wiring, connector and cabling system that provides a reconfigurable, “plug and play” alternative to traditional hard-wired electrical connections. Because it is sealed and IP67 rated, the NECTOR M Sealed Power System can be used in outdoor and high-humidity applications that span residential, parking garages, greenhouses, street lighting, and many other uses. Operating temperature range is from minus 40 up to 85 degrees Celsius. Field installation is made easy and routing during installation is simplified due to a circular form factor that requires less space.

The NECTOR M Sealed Power System product portfolio offers a complete range of 3-, 5-, 6- and 7-pole pluggable electrical installation components with free-hanging (crimp contact and field-installable contacts), panel/chassis mount and power splitter configurations.

The Multi-channel Photocontrol Dimming Receptacle provides an electrical and mechanical interconnection between a photocontrol cell and street light. Ideal for outdoor commercial and utility applications, including street lighting, parking lot lighting, and photo controls, it is available with two or four dimming contacts to support either 0-10 VDC dimming methods or Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI).

This unit provides a reliable power interconnect with three robust twist-lock contacts. It accepts ANSI standard dimmable photocells to provide a connection between the photocell and the luminaire. The Multi-channel Photocontrol Dimming Receptacle comes pre-terminated with wire leads for ease of integration into new or existing light fixtures.
