TE Connectivity Introduces a New, Easy-to-Install Grounding Solution for Indoor Lighting

HARRISBURG, PA., USA – May 1, 2017 – TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, is introducing the Ground Clip cable assembly, a quick and reliable way to ground equipment in applications such as lighting fixtures, HVAC equipment and signage.

A grounded light fixture helps provide safety when a wiring circuit malfunctions by ensuring that the fixture will not carry electrical current that can harm an individual. TE’s Ground Clip assembly allows for fast and easy installation due to a design that virtually eliminates the need for fastening ground lead terminals with screws or bolts. The clip area of the terminal is designed to suit a wide range of conditions as it attaches to both painted and bare panels ranging in thickness from 0.48mm to 1.8mm (0.019 inches to 0.071 inches). The cable assembly also works with either aluminum or steel panels.

The grounding clip terminal comes with a pilot hole in the clip area that allows the option of permanent installation using a sheet metal screw. It accepts 0.75mm² (18 AWG) stranded wire and is available in stainless steel. The cable is readily available in fixed lengths or can be customized upon request.
