UTECH Europe 2006 a record breaking event
UTECH Europe 2006 broke all previous attendees records, as well as attracting over 150 exhibiting companies from around the world and occupied a 10,000 square metre hall.
During the middle day of the event 2137 individuals visited the exhibition, another new record.
The vast range of technology displayed from machinery to chemicals to service companies made this years UTECH Europe a 'must attend' exhibition for the worlds polyurethane specialists.
This is supported by the number of registered visitors attending over the three days. The individuals recorded was 3026 plus 519 attendees to the parallel UTECH Europe conference. 40% of these 3545 attended for more than two days, an indication of the importance of the UTECH Europe event as a place to do business.
The attendee number was up by more than 14% when compared to the UTECH Europe 2003 exhibition held in The Hague, which firmly supports move to Maastricht.
The organisers feel that Maastricht, with its central location, close to the German, French and Belgium boarders encouraged more exhibition visitors to make use of the vast European motorway net work to drive to the MECC Exhibition centre.
There was also a strong increase in visitors from Eastern Europe, including the Russian Federation, Turkey and Asia. In all over 500 visitors came from outside Europe.
"It is our intention," said exhibition organiser Tony Kenter "to make sure that UTECH Europe 2009 maintains this growth and keeps its position as the most important European show for the polyurethanes industry."
