Avebe signs agreement with Fiske Food Ingredients for starch products distribution in Denmark

Fiske Food Denmark, a Univar company and leading specialist distributor of food and beverage ingredients, is now distributing starches for the food industry produced by the Dutch farming co-operative Avebe. The move follows the recent signing of a distribution agreement for Denmark between the two companies.

“We have has selected Fiske Food Denmark in order to intensify our sales and marketing effort to the Danish food industry,” explains Erik Kjellberg, managing director of AVEBE Starches North Europe AB. “As a dedicated, full-service provider to the food processing sector, Fiske is able to provide full technical support, sales and logistics for distributing our broad portfolio of starches.”

The distribution agreement for Fiske Denmark covers the medium-sized and smaller food customers to whom it is already supplying a comprehensive selection of food ingredients. Avebe will continue to sell directly to large accounts in Denmark in parallel with Fiske’s own sales and logistics operations.

“We are very pleased to have been selected to distribute Avebe’s starches and its derivates in Denmark,” says Fiske Food’s deputy business manager Susanna Bondeson. “Its range of products is a perfect complement to our existing portfolio and enhances further our customer focus and commitment to the Danish food processing sector.”

The Avebe co-operative represents 5,000 farmers and is the world’s largest manufacturer of potato starch and potato starch derivatives. Its product portfolio being distributed by Fiske Denmark also includes corn, wheat and tapioca starches, maltodextrins, dextroses and modified starches.
