Univar UK awarded Supplier of the Year by U-POL
13 May, 2005 – U-POL, an international manufacturer and marketer of automotive refinish products, has given its 2004 Premier Supplier award to Univar UK’s Performance Chemicals business unit, based in Cheadle, Manchester.
U-POL, based near London, manufactures and sells a broad range of automotive refinish products, including automotive body fillers, coatings, aerosols, adhesives and wipes. The company exports over 65% of its products to more than 80 countries worldwide under the U-POL, System 20, and MAXIMUM brands, amongst many others. Its UK production facility is recognized as one of the most modern European plants producing large volumes of automotive refinish products.
In presenting the award, Dave Taylor, Purchasing Manager at U-POL cited Univar UK’s reliability and responsiveness as key factors in their successful relationship. He also praised Univar’s all round support and good communications: "In our highly competitive environment, we set low inventory targets as part of our overall cost optimization strategy. Because of this we need suppliers who can respond to our needs to maintain minimum inventory, yet give us timely access to materials to meet market demand.”
