Univar to sell specialised oil products from Aarhus United UK throughout Europe
In a joint announcement at In-Cosmetics 2005, Berlin, Univar and Aarhus United UK (AUUK) confirmed the signing of a contract under which Univar will provide exclusive sales and marketing services for AUUK products to personal care and pharmaceutical customers throughout Europe. The contract, which includes the newly launched PURE BASICS range, is the expansion of a successful 10-year working relationship between the two companies in the UK and Ireland.
Commenting on the appointment of Univar, Tim Stephenson, AUUK Commercial Director, said: “Univar was a natural choice as a partner for this next step in our marketing plan and the launch of our new PURE BASICS range in Europe. It has a dedicated European personal care and pharmaceutical team and an established specialised channel for those markets covering the whole of Europe. The value of this has been demonstrated over the past few months of our working closely together to build a strong relationship within Europe, and we are already seeing the benefits of combining our expertise as a world class refiner with Univar’s excellent marketing network.”
This co-operative effort has also seen AUUK teaming up with Univar’s formulators to produce a range of guide formulations for customers, to promote the benefits for the established range as well as the new PURE BASICS products.
According to Jeremy Drummond, European Business Manager, Univar - Personal Care & Pharmaceutical Division: “We are very pleased to now be able to promote Aarhus United’s high quality oils outside the UK and Ireland markets. This now positions us to offer oils direct from a speciality refiner more cost effectively. Importantly, the new PURE BASICS range also adds an extra dimension for the formulator by giving improved flexibility and stability.”
Aarhus United UK has a speciality refinery at its Hull facility that has operated successfully in serving the UK and export markets since 1983, with a wide variety of refined oils including bespoke formulations. All AUUK products are GM free, and include traditional oil seed crops, Organic Oils and the more exotic oils, such as Gold of Pleasure and Passionflower.
