Another ‘First’ for 3M™ VHB™ Tapes
3M has expanded its range of patented High Bond adhesive tapes with the launch of a new high performance VHB tape specially developed for use with powder coated surfaces. This new tape will permanently bond a variety of substrates and meets the demands of different markets. Examples include bonding glass to metal in the construction of office interiors and electrical cabinets, metal to metal for metal furniture or elevators and plastic to metal for commercial sign assemblies. For the first time in a tape, it provides the durability and strength of mechanical fasteners such as rivets and screws, without damaging painted finishes.

Distrupol hits target with power module box moulded from DuPont Crastin resin
Combination of the accurate materials specification and rapid supply service provided by polymer distributor Distrupol with the one-stop-shop, rapid tooling and technical moulding skills of Dudley Associates enabled the power management division of Semelab, the designer and manufacturer of semiconductor components, to receive prototype parts of a power module box in production materials within two weeks of supplying computerised drawings.

GREAT LAKES ACQUIRES NON-STAINING ANTIOXIDANTS BUSINESS FROM FLEXSYS AMERICA
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA—Great Lakes Chemical Corporation (NYSE:GLK) today announced it has acquired Flexsys America’s non-staining phenolic antioxidants business that includes process technology associated with Santonox® TBMC, Santovar® TAHQ, and Santowhite® BBMC. Great Lakes will market these products under its established line of Lowinox® non-staining antioxidants, which protect against oxygen degradation and discoloration during processing. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
