Signed and sealed: Craig Oliver(L), Northern European marketing manager of DuPont, and Gerry Moore(R), managing director for Distrupol UK, confirm the contractual arrangements of Distrupol’s exclusive distribution agreement with DuPont Engineering Polymers. Under the terms of the agreement, Distrupol UK is now the sole distributor for DuPont’s engineering plastics, including Crastin® PBT and Rynite® PET thermoplastic polyester resins, Delrin® acetal resins, Zytel® nylon resins, Minlon® mineral reinforced nylons and Hytrel® thermoplastic polyester elastomers. Distrupol is also distributor for DuPont’s Packaging and Industrial Products, Elvax® EVA compounds, Elvaloy® acrylate copolymers and Fusabond® polymer modifiers. The exclusive agreement was originally announced on 15 October 2002.

MILLAD® 3988 ERSCHLIESST FÜHRENDEM TSCHECHISCHEN POLYPROPYLENHERSTELLER NEUE PRODUKTE
Chemopetrol, führender tschechischer PP- und PE-Anbieter, führt eine Reihe neuer Polypropylenprodukte ein, die mit Millad® 3988 von Milliken Chemical klar-modifiziert sind. Die Materialien sind Teil einer erneuerten Produktpalette, die auf jüngsten Investitionen von Chemopetrol in eine neue Fertigungsanlage für PP basiert. Die Anlage ersetzt die bisherigen Produktionseinrichtungen und erhöht die Produktionskapazität von Chemopetrol auf 250.000 Tonnen pro Jahr. Seit Inbetriebnahme im vierten Quartal 2002 fertigt der Hersteller dort ein komplettes Spektrum an Homopolymeren sowie Random- und Block-Copolymeren.

KLARES POLYPROPYLEN IM AUFWIND
Versorgungsengpässe bei Polycarbonat, damit verbundene Preissteigerungen sowie zunehmende Bruchschäden bei ATLAS-Schubläden aus diesem Polymer, wie sie von der Lufthansa Catering Logistik (LCL) für Service-Trolleys im Inflight-Catering eingesetzt werden, führten zur Überprüfung der Materialwahl für diese Anwendung. Ziel war, das Nachschub- und Kostenproblem zu überwinden und zugleich auch die Bruchquote zu minimieren.
