GEÄNDERTE SPIELREGELN: DIE NEUEN FASSON GLOBAL CO-EX FOLIENMATERIALIEN
Leiden, Niederlande - Im Rahmen der weltweit größten Fachmesse für Etikettenprodukte, der Labelexpo Europe in Brüssel, werden diesen Monat die neuen urheberrechtlich geschützten, selbstklebenden Folienmaterialien von Fasson der Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt: Fasson Global Co-Ex. Don Stoebe, Vice President und General Manager von Avery Dennison Roll Materials Europe, kommentiert: „Wir sind der festen Überzeugung, dass Fasson Global Co-Ex die Spielregeln für selbstklebende Folienmaterialien grundlegend ändern wird. Durch Fasson Global Co-Ex wird der gesamte Prozess der Auswahl und Anwendung selbstklebender Etikettenfolien deutlich vereinfacht, sowohl für den Etikettenhersteller, als auch den Markenproduzenten.“

Change in Borealis ownership structure final
The transaction announced on June 30 in which the International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) of Abu Dhabi and OMV Aktiengesellschaft of Austria agreed to purchase Statoil's 50% shareholding in Borealis A/S has, following receipt of the necessary regulatory approvals, been closed. The new ownership of Borealis is 65% IPIC and 35% OMV. Dr. Gerhard Roiss, Deputy CEO of OMV, remains the Chairman of Borealis A/S and Mr. Mohamed Al Khaily, Managing Director of IPIC, will be the Vice Chairman.

Micel Industrie Becomes New Distributor of GE’s Ultem* High Performance Films in France
BERGEN OP ZOOM, THE NETHERLANDS — October 13, 2005 — GE Plastics, Specialty Film & Sheet has appointed Saint Chamond-based Micel Industrie as a new distributor of GE’s high-performance Ultem* films for electrical and electronic applications. Micel, which distributes electrical and thermal insulating products and films, as well as adhesive tapes, among other products, will distribute the GE films throughout France. GE’s Ultem films are made from the company’s Ultem polytherimide (PEI) resin.

Successful DEA conversion with GAS/SPEC™ SS specialty amine, for increased H2S removal and lower operating costs
INEOS Oxide, producer of GAS/SPEC SS specialty amines, and Brenntag Oil & Gas, sole distributor and services supplier for this product in Europe, booked successful results at the Slovnaft A.S. Refinery in Bratislava. Since the conversion of their H2S removal system from DEA to an MDEA based GAS/SPEC SS solvent, Slovnaft’s H2S processing capacity has been increased by 25% and operating costs have been reduced significantly by 30% - 50%. Based on these positive results, Slovnaft converted a second amine unit at the refinery from MEA to GAS/SPEC SS.

Neues Image der Abbey Banken: Arla Plast setzt Eastman 14471 Copolyester für Griphen Frost™ Tafeln ein
CAPELLE A/D IJSSEL, NIEDERLANDE - Die britische Bank Abbey stattet ihre 714 Niederlassungen in Großbritannien innerhalb der nächsten drei Jahre neu aus. Mit dieser umfangreichen Aktion soll der neuen Corporate Identity des Unternehmens Rechnung getragen werden. Für die Leuchttafeln in den Innenräumen der Banken hat sich die Bank für Griphen Frost™ Platten aus Eastman 14471 Copolyester entschieden. Griphen Frost Platten werden von Arla Plast, Schweden, hergestellt. Dieses Material zeichnet sich durch seine matte Oberflächencharakteristik aus, die besonders attraktiv wirkt. Es erhielt außerdem in Großbritannien die Brandschutzklasse 1Y, d.h. geringe Rauchdichte und Freisetzung nicht toxischer Rauchgase im Brandfall.
