Belden hat mit dem neuen BAT-C aus seinem Hirschmann™-Produktprogramm einen industriegerechten IP65-WLAN-Client auf den Markt gebracht. Dieses preiswerte Basic-Gerät ermöglicht überall dort, wo keine High-End-Clients erforderlich sind, wirtschaftliche WLAN-Installationen. Die Datenrate des BAT-C, der den neuen Übertragungsstandard IEEE 802.11n unterstützt, beträgt bis zu 150 Mbit/s. Fast Roaming gewährleistet eine unterbrechungsfreie Verbindung beim Wechsel von einer Funkzelle zur anderen. Zu den weiteren Merkmalen gehören Management- und Verschlüsselungsverfahren, ein Temperaturbereich von -40° C bis +70° C, eine 24-Volt-Spannungsversorgung sowie eine kompakte Bauform. Damit ist der Client für eine Vielzahl von stationären und mobilen WLAN-Applikationen im industriellen Umfeld geeignet. Da er zudem eine E1-Zulassung hat, können mit ihm ebenso Busse und andere Kraftfahrzeuge zuverlässig via Funk an ein Ethernet-Netzwerk angebunden werden.

Phostech Lithium Plant Officially Opens

Candiac, Québec (Canada), April 2, 2012 - Representatives from Clariant and Süd-Chemie, as well as Canadian and Québec government officials, today celebrated the official opening of a new battery materials manufacturing plant at Phostech Lithium Inc, a Clariant group company. The plant produces carbon coated lithium iron phosphate (C-LiFePO4) a high performance energy storage material used in batteries for electric vehicle drives, stationary energy storage and other applications. The facility will create more than 50 new jobs, helping to contributing to stimulate the regional economy.
