Clariant expands as its C6 chemistry Nuva® N increasingly gets the textile industry's approval
Singapore, 19 September 2012 - As one of the leading companies in the production of fabric repellency treatments, Clariant has increased its capacity to produce next-generation fluorochemicals at its plant in Gendorf, Germany. With an investment of 8 million euros supporting C6 chemistries, the plant will support new lines of Nuva® products and expand options for customers who are increasingly making the switch from traditional C8 products.

SABIC’s World-Renowned LEXAN™ PC Resin & Customer Support Helps Fonckel B.V. Take Unique LED Luminaire from Design to Reality
MUNICH, Germany, September 19, 2012 - When Fonckel B.V., a start-up company based in the Netherlands, needed expert assistance to turn the stunning design of its Fonckel One lamp – an interactive light emitting diode (LED) luminaire – into a commercial product, SABIC’s Innovative Plastics business was there to deliver its world-class customer support. With its robust portfolio of advanced thermoplastics for lighting applications, its Color Innovation Centre offering more than 18,000 color and diffusion effect options, and its application development expertise, SABIC assisted Fonckel with tapping the proven performance and versatility of LEXAN™ FXD polycarbonate (PC) resin for use on the lamp’s diffuser cover. On display here at the Strategies in Light Show at SABIC booth #B8, this unique luminaire, the name which means “sparkle” in Dutch, demonstrates SABIC’s ability to precisely meet the specialized needs of its customers by helping them translate their design vision into the right material application.

SABIC präsentiert auf der InnoTrans das erweiterte LEXAN™ Platten-Portfolio für Innenausstattungen von Eisenbahnwagen und unterstützt damit Kunden bei der Erfüllung zukünftiger gesetzlicher Anforderungen
BERLIN, Deutschland, 18. September 2012 - Im Vorfeld der Einführung der gesamteuropäischen Brandschutznorm für Innenausstattungen von Eisenbahnwagen hat die Geschäftseinheit Innovative Plastics von SABIC sein bereits umfassendes Portfolio an leistungsstarken Werkstofflösungen um zwei neue LEXAN™ Plattenprodukte erweitert. Diese neuen Produkte sind LEXAN H6500 Platten, eine neue Polycarbonat/Acrylonitril-Butadien-Styrol (PC/ABS) Plattensorte, die mit dem bald geltenden harmonisierten Standard CEN/TS 45545 übereinstimmt und LEXAN H6200 Platten, eine neue Sorte, die die deutsche DIN-Norm erfüllt. Beide Produkte wurden speziell für Kunden aus dem Eisenbahnsektor entwickelt, damit diese die zunehmende Nachfrage nach mehr Nachhaltigkeit und nach fortschrittlichen Kunststofflösungen mit chlor- und bromfreiem Flammschutz erfüllen und das Design und die Entwicklung von Innenausstattungen von Eisenbahnwagen verbessern können. Mit den hier an der InnoTrans 2012 auf der Berlin Messe in Halle 5.1 auf Stand 228 präsentierten, industrieführenden Werkstoffen beweist SABIC sein Verständnis für die Prioritäten der Eisenbahnindustrie und sein Engagement bei der Entwicklung von innovativen, neuen Lösungen, mit denen seine Kunden sich den ständig ändernden Anforderungen stellen können.

SABIC Showcases Extensive Portfolio of Innovative Materials Technologies for the Lighting Industry at Strategies in Light Event
MUNICH, Germany, September 18, 2012 - SABIC’s Innovative Plastics business is displaying the vast scope, versatility and quality of its material technologies for lighting applications at its booth (#B8) at the Strategies in Light event here. The company is spotlighting key aspects of its portfolio – one of the broadest in the lighting industry – including the LEXAN™ LUX family of high-performance polycarbonate (PC) resins for light emitting diode (LED) lighting, and other specialty compounds for the lighting industry. A highlight of the exhibit is the interactive Fonckel One LED luminaire, whose diffuser cover is molded from specially tinted LEXAN FXD resin. The Fonckel One is just one example of lighting innovations whose design, aesthetics, performance and sustainability can be enhanced with SABIC materials.

Belden präsentiert zwei neue SPIDER-Varianten der Marke Hirschmann
Neckartenzlingen – 18. September 2012 - Belden Inc., ein global führender Anbieter von Signalübertragungslösungen für geschäftskritische Anwendungen, hat in der EMEA-Region sein Hirschmann-Produktprogramm um zwei neue unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet-Switches aus der SPIDER-Familie erweitert: Der SPIDER II Giga EEC Pro, der entweder mit fünf Twisted Pair-Ports (10/100/1000 Mbit/s) oder zwei zusätzlichen SFP-Schächten für Fiberoptic-Transceiver (1000 BASE-SX/LX) angeboten wird, unterstützt Quality of Service gemäß IEEE 802.1D. Dadurch lassen sich die Datenpakete priorisieren, so dass dieser Switch beispielsweise für PROFINET-Applikationen im Maschinenbau eingesetzt werden kann. Der SPIDER II Giga EEC Jumbo ist ebenfalls in zwei 5-Port-Ausführungen mit und ohne SFP-Schächten erhältlich. Da beide Jumbo Frames mit bis zu 9014 Byte Nutzdaten unterstützen, sind sie insbesondere für Videoanwendungen geeignet. Alle Ausführungen erfüllen die relevanten Industrienormen für Schock-, Vibrations- und EMV-Festigkeit und haben zudem eine cUL508-Safety-Zulassung. Zu den weiteren Merkmalen gehören eine 12/24V-Spannungsversorgung, Schutzart IP30, eine lüfterlose Kühlung und ein erweiterter Temperaturbereich von -40 °C bis +70 °C.
