Clariant launches renewable waxes for plastics applications
Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals is introducing a family of high-performance waxes based on a renewable feedstock. Licocare RBW multi-purpose additives are based on crude rice bran wax. This is a non-food-competing by-product from the production of rice bran oil and is available in large quantities. Use and upgrade of the non-edible component of the oil means that its full value can be utilized. The main target applications for Licocare RBW are engineering thermoplastics and epoxy molded components. The solutions can also be used for other applications, such as agriculture, coatings, home and personal care.

Forschung bestätigt organische Säuren als zukunftsfähige Alternative zu Formaldehyd für die Futtermittelhygiene
Perstorp - 20. Februar 2018 - Ende 2017 verweigerte die Europäische Union die Zulassung von Formaldehyd als Konservierungsmittel und zur Verbesserung der Hygienebedingungen. Diese Entscheidung hat der schwedische Produzent von organischer Säure und Hersteller von Futterzusatzstoffen, Perstorp, vorhergesehen und sowohl die Wirkungsweise, als auch die Wirksamkeit von organischen Säuren gegen Salmonellen mehrere Jahre lang erforscht. Die neuen Daten brachten nun ans Tageslicht, dass Propionsäure die Motilität von Salmonellen reduziert und dass speziell ausgewählte ätherische Öle zusammen mit organischen Säuren einen Synergieeffekt entfalten.
