SABIC kooperiert mit Dongfeng (China) beim Einsatz einer neuartigen Kunststoff/Composite-Hybridlösung für eine leichtbau- Toolbox zur Montage auf Nutzfahrzeugen
SABIC, ein weltweit führendes Unternehmen der chemischen Industrie, hat heute bekanntgegeben, dass es gemeinsam mit Dongfeng Motors, einem der größten Nutzfahrzeughersteller Chinas, eine neuartige Kunststoff/Composite-Hybridlösung zur Fertigung einer robusten, aber gewichtsparenden Werkzeugbox entwickelt hat, die fest auf dem Fahrzeug montiert wird. Die Box wird in einem einzigen Overmolding-Prozess aus STAMAX™, einem langglasfaserverstärkten Polypropylen (PP), in Kombination mit Laminateinsätzen aus einem Endlosfaser-Verbundwerkstoff hergestellt. Das Fertigteil ist bis zu 30 Prozent leichter als vergleichbare Konstruktionen aus Stahl, und Dongfeng profitiert von der wirtschaftlicheren Produktion, die sich aus dem Einsatz der neuartigen Materiallösung ergibt.
