SABIC präsentiert erstmals eine 40% dünnere ELCRES™ HTV150A Folie für die Anwendung in SiC Invertern mit hoher Dauergebrauchstemperatur in elektrifizierten PKW (xEV) auf der PCIM Europe
SABIC, ein weltweit führendes Unternehmen der chemischen Industrie, führt auf der PCIM Europe 2022 in Halle 7, Stand 142, eine neue, dünnere ELCRES™ HTV150A dielektrische Folie ein. ELCRES™ HTV150A wurde gezielt für den Einsatz in Kondensatoren für Antriebsumrichtern, Onboard-Ladegeräten und Elektrokompressoren von Hybrid-,Plug-in-Hybrid- und vollelektrischen Fahrzeugen (xEV) entwickelt. Die 3-µm-Folie ist 40% dünner als das von SABIC erst kürzlich vorgestellte 5-µm-Produkt, was weitere Volumen- und Gewichtsreduzierungen und einen größeren Designspielraum für Kondensatoren mit erhöhter Energiedichte erschließt. Wie schon die 5-µm-Variante behält auch die 3-µm-Folie ihre Leistungsfähigkeit bei hohen Betriebstemperaturen bis 150°C bei und schließt damit die kritische Leistungslücke traditioneller Polypropylen- (PP) und Polyesterfolien oberhalb von 135°C. Dieses neue thermische Leistungsniveau unterstützt Kunden im Bestreben, auf kompaktere Antriebsmodule mit Siliziumcarbid-Technologie umzusteigen, um die Energiedichte zu steigern, Gewicht zu sparen und auf diese Weise die erhöhte Wirtschaftlichkeit und Leistung für eine verstärkte Verbraucherakzeptanz von xEV zu erreichen.

USAF and GE ‘Pacer Edge’ Pathfinder metal 3D prints four out-of-production parts
The US Air Force (USAF) and GE recently entered the third phase of its ‘Pacer Edge’ pathfinder. Phase III has focused on 3D printing for four parts that are currently obsolete: a bellcrank, gearbox seat, anti-icing valve body and a cross shaft arm. The first two parts, the cross shaft arm and the bellcrank, have been successfully printed in cobalt-chrome on a fleet of M2 Series 5 system at GE Additive‘s facility in Cincinnati.
