Additive Manufacturing research: Experts at Oerlikon, Linde and TU Munich to develop high-strength lightweight aluminum-based alloy
Global technology Group Oerlikon, with vast expertise in materials, has entered into an additive manufacturing (AM) research alliance with Linde, the world’s largest industrial gases company, and the Technical University of Munich (TUM), one of the leading German universities in engineering. The partners aim to develop new high-strength, lightweight aluminum-based alloys that can serve the safety and weight reduction needs of the aerospace and automotive industries. The Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs is funding 50% of the EUR 1.7 million research project.

Clariant Catalysts expands in APAC with new Engineering Services office in Indonesia
First Singapore and Tokyo, now Jakarta. Clariant’s Catalysts business unit opens its third location for Engineering Services in Asia-Pacific, bringing the global total to 16 offices. The expansion is aimed at enhancing regional support, particularly in the southern APAC countries, with a focus on catalysts for ethylene and styrene and syngas applications, as well as distillate upgrading, hydrogenation, and oxidation.

Mallinckrodt and Terumo BCT Announce UVADEX® (Methoxsalen) Approved in Australia for use with the THERAKOS® CELLEX® Photopheresis System for the Treatment of Chronic Graft Versus Host Disease (cGvHD) and Skin Manifestations of Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma (CTCL) in Adults
Mallinckrodt plc (NYSE: MNK), a global biopharmaceutical company, and Terumo BCT, a global leader in blood component, therapeutic apheresis and cellular technologies, today announced that UVADEX® (methoxsalen) has received regulatory approval in Australia by the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) for extracorporeal administration with the THERAKOS® CELLEX® Photopheresis System. The treatment is indicated for steroid-refractory and steroid-intolerant chronic graft versus host disease (cGvHD) in adults following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) transplantation. The TGA also approved UVADEX in conjunction with the THERAKOS CELLEX Photopheresis System for the palliative treatment of skin manifestations of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) that is unresponsive to other forms of treatment.
