SONGWON Industrial Group reports strong sales performance in FY 2017
SONGWON Industrial Group (www.songwon.com) today reported its financial results for FY2017. In Q4/2017 ended December 31, 2017, sales continued to grow and SONGWON achieved consolidated revenues of 724.9 Billion KRW with a 4.4% increase year-over-year. Although not reaching the same level as the previous year, the results in 2017 were achieved in a far more challenging environment, demonstrating SONGWON’s resilience and ability to continue to deliver a good performance.

SONGWON begins large scale manufacture of functional monomers in Ulsan, South Korea
Having started to develop functional monomers about two years ago, SONGWON has now begun bulk manufacture at its production site in Ulsan, South Korea. These monomers provide resins and polymers with special functions, one of the most important being improvement of the physical and chemical properties of the final product. Applications include resins, sealants, adhesives and engineering plastics designed for use in coatings, the automotive sector and electronic packaging.
To ensure the availability of SONGNOX® 5650 worldwide, SONGWON has started to manufacture the product at its Panoli plant in Gujarat, India.
Ulsan, South Korea – November 15, 2017 – SONGWON is expanding its range of ultraviolet absorbers (UVAs) for high performance coatings and is now launching two new products, SONGSORB® CS 400 and SONGSORB® CS 384-2. The two UVAs can both be used in combination with a hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS) such as SONGSORB® CS AQ01, which was introduced at this year’s European Coatings Show.
