Ghent, Belgium – Milliken & Company announced today that it has won the prestigious EUROPUR Innovation Award for the company’s Milliguard™ AOX-1 polymer-bound antioxidant for polyurethane (PU) which gives the automotive industry a unique solution for compliance with toughening indoor air quality standards for vehicles. EUROPUR, the European Association of Flexible Polyurethane Foam Blocks Manufacturers, created this award to recognize excellence and professionalism in the flexible PU foam industry. Antoni Puig, product line manager, EMEA – PU Colorants & Additives, and Sven De Vis, European technical manager, accepted the award on behalf of Milliken on June 8 at the 50th anniversary celebration of EUROPUR in Brussels, Belgium.
Henkel Adhesive Technologies has expanded its portfolio of liquid-applied sound deadeners (LASD) for the automobile industry. Newly added to the portfolio are TEROSON LASD grades based on renewable oils (renewable thermosets) for use in the paint shop and body shop department. Also new is a water-based acrylic system offering excellent interaction between the polymers employed and the special fillers introduced to achieve maximum vibration damping combined with controlled, minimized abrasiveness. In a joint project with the BMW Group and ABB, the waterborne technology and the associated application technique have been specifically developed for future use worldwide in the new BMW 3 series.
Muttenz, June 23, 2016 – Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, inaugurated its new production plant for water-based pigment preparations in Mexico. The new plant located in Santa Clara doubles Clariant’s Mexico annual production capacity for water-based pigment preparations and enhances its ability to serve customers across North and Latin America.
