OEGSTGEEST, the Netherlands — December 8, 2015 — PET is by far the most recycled plastic material in Europe, with the equivalent of over 66 billion bottles recycled in 2014. However, recycling siliconised PET liner is more complex and challenging, and was achieved in Europe only last year, when Avery Dennison reached out to PET UK in Scotland. Such recycling offers converters and brand owners an opportunity to move towards a more circular economy and save costs, whilst reducing environmental impacts and greenhouse gas emissions. In 2014 Brothers Drinks was one of the first brands to join the Avery Dennison recycling scheme run in partnership with PET UK.

OEGSTGEEST, the Netherlands — September 15, 2015 — A unique new technology from Avery Dennison has solved a longstanding problem for wine producers who want to use uncoated bottle labels. Uncoated paper facestocks, with a matt finish are a popular way of achieving a premium bottle ‘look’, but they have always had one major disadvantage: they turn grey when exposed to water. Launching at Labelexpo 2015, the new Aqua Opaque™ solution resists greying and opens up new design possibilities.

Ghent, Belgium – Milliken & Company unveiled today, at Pack Expo International (booth #10513), Hyperform® HPN 210 M, a new, game-changing nucleating agent for injection molded high-density polyethylene (HDPE) applications. This new breakthrough technology features a unique crystalline orientation that improves the mechanical performance of HDPE to levels approaching those of polypropylene (PP) impact copolymers. The Hyperform HPN 210 M nucleator gives molders attractive new processing options for packaging and material handling applications and underscores Milliken’s investment in ongoing research to benefit customers worldwide. The new additive – which specifically targets material handling applications such as waste containers, totes, crates and pallets – is the first in a family of next-generation nucleators that Milliken is developing.
