Perstorp launches world’s first portfolio of renewable polyols

Perstorp November 15, 2017 - Perstorp is announcing world’s first portfolio of renewable alternatives to the essential polyols Pentaerythritol (Penta), Trimethylolpropane (TMP), and Neopentyl glycol (Neo). The product portfolio will be globally launched at China Coat. The launch is a response to the fast growing global need for more sustainable Coatings, Resins and Synthetic Lubricants to mention a few. This means that Perstorp is the only chemical company in the world to offer all three essential polyols Penta, TMP and Neo in both traditional and renewable forms.

Clariant to build flagship sunliquid® cellulosic ethanol plant in Romania

Muttenz, October 31, 2017 - Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, today announced the approval by the Board of Directors to invest in a new full-scale commercial plant for the production of cellulosic ethanol from agricultural residues using its sunliquid® technology. The new plant, with an annual production capacity of 50.000 tons, will be built in the southwestern part of Romania. The facility will be a flagship site, confirming competitiveness and sustainability of the sunliquid® technology at commercial scale thus supporting Clariant’s sunliquid® licensing business strategy.

Clariant again grows sales, increases profitability and is well on track to meet 2017 outlook

With an excellent 10 % growth in both sales and profitability in the first nine months of the year we are well on track to achieve our targets,” said CEO Hariolf Kottmann. “Our achievements are based on innovation, sustainability and on the endless commitment of our employees. For 2017, we are confident that we will achieve our targets, i.e. growth in local currency, progression in operating cash flow, absolute EBITDA and EBITDA margin before exceptional items in spite of a temporarily weaker cash flow in the first half.”
