SONGWON expands in-house production in Suwon, South Korea
A new production line at SONGWON’s site in Suwon, South Korea for the manufacture and distillation of SONGSORB® CS 400 UV stabilizer has become operational. With a total capacity of about 1’000 metric tons, it allows fully backward integrated in-house manufacture of SONGSORB® CS 400 at all stages from intermediate to finished product.

Global specialty chemicals leader Perstorp announces sale of its BioProducts business
Perstorp, a global leader in specialty chemicals, today announced the sale of Perstorp BioProducts, a leading producer of biodiesel and glycerine in Scandinavia, to a Swedish investor together with a member of the subsidiary’s management team. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The Compound Company, the fast-growing manufacturer of EcoForte® thermoplastic performance compounds and Yparex® extrudable adhesive resins, is to double its production capacity with investments totalling €8 million.
MUNICH, Germany – As the tradition goes, twice a year the functional fabric fair Performance Days selects the most innovative fabrics, accessories and finishes for their Performance Forum. This year, two functional finishes from textile innovator Devan Chemicals (Moov&Cool® & R-Vital™) were chosen. R-Vital™ was awarded with the ‘100% Jury Like’ stamp, meaning all the members of the Jury selected the sample, a recognition only granted to a handful of the 1400 applications.
SONGWON Industrial Group (www.songwon.com) today released its financial results for the 3rd quarter of 2018. In Q3/2018, gross profit amounted to 42,974 Mil. KRW, with sales for the quarter totaling 204,403 Mil. KRW. Profit for the period rose over 2017 by 38.4%, and the Group announced a 12.6% EBITDA for the 3rd quarter of the year.
Textile finishing innovator Devan Chemicals presents its further findings on their Moov&Cool® ‘cool comfort’ technology for the apparel/sportswear market. The patented polymer technology was first introduced on Performance Days in April earlier this year.
