Bugaboo, DSM Engineering Materials, Fibrant and Neste partner to enable industry-first stroller portfolio made with bio-based materials
Today, Bugaboo, DSM Engineering Materials, Fibrant and Neste announce that their cross-value chain partnership has successfully enabled the launch of an entire Bugaboo stroller portfolio made with bio-based materials. Specifically, the majority of the strollers’ plastic parts are made using DSM Engineering Materials’ Akulon® 100% bio-based B-MB polyamide 6 (PA6), which in turn is made using bio-based feedstock from both Fibrant and Neste. DSM Engineering Materials uses a mass-balancing approach with renewable waste and residue raw material to enable a ~75% PA6 carbon footprint reduction compared to conventional PA6 and up to 24% of the entire stroller. Clariant unveils portfolio for purifying pyrolysis oil derived from mixed plastic waste
Driven by its vision to enable a circular economy, Clariant launched an innovative portfolio of flexible, custom solutions for the emerging market of chemical plastics recycling.
Perstorp is aligning with the new industry standard for product carbon footprint (PCF), developed by the industrial initiative Together for Sustainability. Perstorp can already provide product carbon footprint values for about 85% of its products (based on sales volume), and is continuously adding more products. 
Clariant will create a second production line at its new CHF 60 million state of the art facility for Exolit OP halogen-free flame retardants currently under construction in Daya Bay, China. This additional CHF 40 million investment will further expand access to innovative and sustainable fire protection solutions and related technical expertise to support the significant growth of engineering plastics applications in E-mobility and electrical & electronic segments.

New developments give applications greater resilience to support longer use and reuse on the path to circularity. SBTi is a collective of international organizations dedicated to helping companies set emission reduction targets consistent with climate science and the Paris Agreement.
