美國匹茲堡- PPG工業公司（紐約證交所代碼：PPG）汽車玻璃及服務業務部門將依約出售給私人股權投資公司Kohlberg & Co., LLC，PPG將與後者合資成立一家新公司，新公司的名字定為匹茲堡玻璃工廠，於2008年8月1日起生效。新成立的業務將在完成與Kohlberg & Co.公司的交易之後繼續使用此名字，交易預計在今年第三季度完成。
作为太阳能电池制造商，德国Würth Solar公司的当前生产量已达到90%并且还在不断增长。在玻璃基板上制作印制电路板（PCBs）是一项艰难的工作。2000年，这些CIS涂层先锋还是利用其Marbach向导装置开发1200mm×600mm规格太阳能电池模板的世界领先者。自从开始在德国生产，Würth Solar公司就与作为康耐视斯图加特合伙人的AIT Göhner股份有限公司合作，利用In-Sight 视觉系统实现数据跟踪以提高生产率并完善产品质量。
