Perstorp increases its commitment to Chinese coating customers
The Perstorp Group, a world leader in specialty chemicals, will be showcasing its new Neopentyl Glycol (Neo) and innovative Capa™ polyols for PU coatings & stoving enamels at Chinacoat 2013. Considerable investments have been made into a new Neo plant at Zibo to support the growing demand for powder coatings in China. The investments are part of Perstorp's long-standing commitment to China and to the Chinese coating customers.
Muttenz, October 31, 2013 – Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, is today officially opening its new EUR 100 million Clariant Innovation Center (CIC) in Frankfurt, Germany. The company’s new global hub for Research & Development (R&D) is based at the “Industriepark Höchst.” It will be the home of Clariant’s competence centers in chemical research and process technology as well as application laboratories for several Business Units and state-of-the art analytical laboratories . The CIC will also house the departments for Intellectual Property Management and New Business Development. As the corporation’s global hub, the CIC will ensure the coordination of Clariant’s world-wide R&D network, which includes centers across Europe, North America, Brazil, Japan, India and China.

A patent-pending technology, Turnlock allows converters to protect graphics using a single roll, consuming 30 per cent less material and at 25 per cent higher operational efficiencies. JMC is a leading supplier of several types of high performance pigments and pigment preparations in China. The business recorded sales of RMB 210 million (approximately CHF 30 million). It manufactures and markets pigments and pigment preparations mainly for customers in coatings, plastics and printing inks in the domestic and export markets.
