Perstorp set to save more than one billion litres of fresh water yearly at Stenungsund plant
Sustainable solutions provider Perstorp is investing in a unique project that will allow it to use wastewater from a nearby municipal treatment plant for production operations in Stenungsund, Sweden. This will save 1.1 billion litres of fresh water per year.
Heubach Colorants India Ltd, a leading producer of pigments and pigment preparations, will be investing in renewable energy projects to power its sites in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. Upon commercialization of these projects, more than 65% of the energy for its Roha and Cuddalore sites will be supplied by renewable sources. The investment process is expected to close after customary reviews in the coming weeks.
Solvay launched today Reactsurf® 2490, a new APE-free polymerizable surfactant designed as a primary emulsifier for acrylic, vinyl-acrylic and styrene-acrylic latex systems. Reactsurf® 2490 improves emulsion performance to deliver superior functional and aesthetic benefits in exterior coatings and pressure sensitive adhesives (PSAs), compared to conventional surfactants, even at high temperatures. 
Swiss-based SANITIZED AG is increasing its innovation expertise by appointing a new CTO, Dr. Martin Čadek, who will oversee global technological activities for the specialist antimicrobial hygiene brand. Dr. Čadek will lead the company’s Competence Centre for Technology Innovation and will focus on breaking new ground to develop innovations in sustainability.
Perstorp is aligning with the new industry standard for product carbon footprint (PCF), developed by the industrial initiative Together for Sustainability. Perstorp can already provide product carbon footprint values for about 85% of its products (based on sales volume), and is continuously adding more products.
