Reverdia-joint venture launched
Reverdia, the joint venture between Royal DSM and Roquette Frères, has been formally approved by the relevant regulatory authorities. Reverdia aims to build on its emerging leadership position for bio-based succinic acid through its proprietary production technology and by ensuring reliable supply to meet the evolving market demands. Reverdia combines DSM’s expertise in Materials Sciences, and biotechnology together with Roquette’s know-how in plant-based raw material processing.

WINNING DESIGN OF CERADYNE’S ENHANCED COMBAT HELMET (ECH) FEATURES HIGH BALLISTIC PERFORMANCE OF DSM DYNEEMA’S HB80 UNIDIRECTIONAL (UD) COMPOSITE
STANLEY, N.C. – March 15, 2012 - DSM Dyneema today announced that its Dyneema® HB80 unidirectional (UD) composite – one of the highest ballistic performance UD materials on the market today – played a critical role in Ceradyne Inc.’s successful development of the new Enhanced Combat Helmet (ECH) for the United States Marine Corps and Army. Ceradyne chose Dyneema® HB80 to provide the highest level of ballistic protection for the ECH. Compared to the existing Advanced Combat Helmet (ACH) which is made with aramid fibers, the new ECH with Dyneema® HB80 provides protection and exceeds the ECH program requirement for better fragmentation performance than ACH, all without increasing helmet weight. HB80 is also the only material that passes the stringent ECH testing.
As part of the overall strategic plan for logistics and supply chain to improve efficiencies and improve customer service levels, Azelis has appointed HW Coates as our new partner for the warehouse and transport of packed goods in the UK and Ireland.
The Netherlands, October 17, 2011 - SB71, a new and innovative ballistic material from DSM Dyneema, is a uni-directional (UD) grade made of Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) fiber which demonstrates improved performance. This ultimately is reflected in a lower weight protection system that meets current requirements in North America and Germany.
