Dieses Modul ist Teil der einzigartigen Produktionslinie, die rund ein Dutzend namhafte Partner aus dem Automatisierungsbereich unter dem Dach der herstellerübergreifenden Technologie-Initiative SmartFactoryKL realisiert haben. Gemäß dem Industrie 4.0-Ansatz sorgen dezentral gesteuerte Fertigungsprozesse für größtmögliche Flexibilität und Effizienz. So lässt sich das Layout der Produktionslinie beispielsweise im laufenden Betrieb innerhalb von Minuten verändern oder durch neue Module erweitern, was unter anderem die Herstellung von kundenspezifischen Produkten in Losgröße 1 oder Massenfertigung ermöglicht. Das stellt jedoch ganz neue Anforderungen an die Leistungsfähigkeit der Datenkommunikation. Denn es müssen sowohl große Datenmengen in Echtzeit übertragen als auch zahlreiche Teilnehmer angebunden und zuverlässig vor Netzattacken geschützt werden. Damit bildet das „Connected Security“-Modul von Belden den zentralen Baustein der Produktionslinie, die auf der Hannover Messe (SmartFactoryKL Halle 8, Stand D20 und Belden Halle 9, D11) erstmals gezeigt wird.
