This accolade was awarded for General Motors’ pioneering hybrid battery module structure utilizing Amodel® polyphthalamide (PPA). This innovative structure stands out for its remarkable 37% weight reduction and 25% cost savings, achieved through strategic part consolidation which eliminates the need for compression limiters, films, and coatings found in conventional battery modules.
SABIC, a global leader in the chemical industry, will highlight at PCIM Asia 2024 (in Hall 11, Booth H03) the first commercial application of its high-heat ELCRES™ HTV150A dielectric film. Japan’s Nichicon Corporation used this ultra-thin specialty film to develop high-temperature, high-voltage, commercial-quality capacitors for AC-DC traction inverter modules in electric vehicles. This technological breakthrough addresses industry demand for advanced film capacitors that can enable more-efficient AC-DC power modules.
