TE Connectivity Unveils Reflow Capable Connectors for HVAC Equipment and Appliances
HARRISBURG, PA., USA – June 15, 2017 – TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, introduces two new reflow capable connectors for customers who are changing their manufacturing processes to high performance reflow soldering of PCB assemblies. The reflow capable universal MATE-N-LOK connectors and Economy Power headers are both rectangular wire-to-board power connectors built on a tested solution where the thermoplastic housings are designed to withstand high temperatures associated with reflow soldering. Both connectors are suitable for a wide range of applications including appliances, HVAC equipment, security systems, power supplies, industrial machinery, elevators and escalators.

TE Connectivity’s LUMAWISE Photo Control Portfolio Extended to Provide Additional Design Flexibility
HARRISBURG, PA., USA – June 13, 2017 – TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, is unveiling several innovations to its LUMAWISE photo control portfolio providing street lighting manufacturers additional design flexibility. TE’s LUMAWISE base assembly, sleeve and covers together integrate power and signal interface to the dimming receptacle to ensure long-term reliability. This interface can be used in applications such as LED outdoor roadway, street and area lighting fixtures.

Now, the E5_D series - the next generation of controllers built on the successful E5_C platform - is designed to achieve optimal and automatic temperature control without human intervention. In fact, from now on all typical adjustments made in the field by experts are automated using Artificial Intelligence (A.I.). The E5_D is based on the E5_C platform so the basic features are the same (50msec control period, universal inputs measurements Thermocouples/Pt100/linear, and more) but with a draw-out structure to make maintenance even easier.

These tool-less, poke-in wire splice connectors provide visual termination of solid and stranded wires in gauges from 22 to 12 AWG (0.5 – 2.5 mm²). The connectors are color-coded according to the number of positions for easy identification, and their compact size enables them to be used in tight spaces. A test slot incorporated into each connector allows for voltage testing.

The connectors utilize poke-in termination, which makes field installation simple and fast; no tools are required. Their compact design makes them ideal for applications where space is a constraint. Especially suitable for indoor lighting applications, the connectors are available in four different colors (black, orange, red and white) for ease of identification and assembly. The three-position versions have a make-first break-last (MFBL) contact for grounding.
