Clariant and Siemens to introduce New Sour Gas Shift Technology for Coal Gasification
Muttenz, May 28, 2014 - Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, announced today that it has signed an agreement with Siemens Fuel Gasification Technology to cooperate in the commercialization of a new, jointly developed sour gas shift (SGS) technology for coal gasification. The agreement appoints Clariant as the exclusive catalyst supplier for all Siemens gasification integrated SGS projects. While the collaboration covers all global projects, commercialization will focus on China - the region with the highest growth rate of coal-to-chemical projects.

Clariant CATOFIN® catalyst chosen for new - isobutylene project in China
Munich, May 12, 2014 – Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, announces that its CATOFIN® catalyst will be used in a new grassroots iso-butane dehydrogenation unit commissioned by Shandong Chengtai Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. CB&I has been awarded the contract for the license and engineering design of the new unit to be built in Changyi, Shandong Province, China.
The Netherlands, 5 May, 2014 - The world's most creep-resistant ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber is even better than previously thought. Producer DSM Dyneema unveiled DM20, based on its new Dyneema® Max Technology, at the OTC Offshore Technology Conference in 2012, for use in mooring ropes for offshore production platforms. Since then, the company has been carrying out extensive characterization studies on the lifetime and tensile properties of this ground-breaking fiber. DM20 is fully commercial, with a set of final specifications that exceed the data presented at OTC 2012.
