The company is adding significant production capability to its plant in Pudong, Shanghai: a new facility housing four extrusion lines that will begin operations this month. SABIC Innovative Plastics will also expand its China Technology Center, located here, with the creation of a new Center of Excellence focused on notebook computers. The company’s continued investment in application development and production resources will provide customers in Greater China and Asia with faster procurement and outstanding technical support.

SHANGHAI, China – April 17, 2008 – China Array Plastics LLC, a full-service injection molder of high-performance thermoplastics, with headquarters in the United States in Pittsfield, Mass., is exhibiting a new replacement lid for the Robot Coupe Model R8 food processor and a vapor-tight globe light enclosure in varying sizes and colors here at Chinaplas 2008 in booth W1F59. The new replacement lid is molded from clear Lexan* polycarbonate (PC) resin from SABIC Innovative Plastics and features excellent cleanability, chemical resistance, impact strength, dimensional stability, and clarity. The vapor-tight globe light enclosure - a plastic protective globe molded to fit over light bulbs in food service environments - and the food prep pans, can be molded using a large selection of high-performance thermoplastic materials. Replacing glass or stainless steel with high-performance plastics in these applications provides excellent impact and chemical resistance, and the ability to withstand extreme temperatures. These new applications represent China Arrays’ newest high-end applications now being manufactured at its state-of-the art molding facility in Wuhan, China.

SHANGHAI, China – April 17, 2008 – China Array Plastics LLC, a full service injection molder of high-performance thermoplastics with headquarters in the United States in Pittsfield, Mass., is exhibiting new dairy components molded of high performance thermoplastics here at Chinaplas 2008 in booth W1F59. These include milk collection bowls and milking claws molded of Solvay Advanced Materials’ Udel P1700 NT® polysulfone and Radel A® polyethersulfone resins. The components are now being manufactured at China Array Plastics’ new state-of-the-art injection molding facility in Wuhan, China and underscore the U.S.-based company’s growing importance as a leading injection molder of high-performance dairy parts in China. China Array offers multinational and Chinese dairy OEMs tremendous advantages including top quality parts, faster delivery, lower manufacturing costs, and highly trained U.S. and local expertise.

SHANGHAI, China – April 17, 2008 – China Array Plastics LLC, a full-service injection molder of high-performance thermoplastics, with headquarters in the United States in Pittsfield, Mass., is showcasing a new high-clarity and near-optical quality camera dome for surveillance cameras here at Chinaplas 2008. Molded of super-tough Lexan* 143R-111 resin from SABIC Innovative Plastics, the dome provides a weatherproof and distortion free enclosure to house a camera for remote viewing. The new camera domes are on display in booth W1F59 and are currently being molded at China Array Plastics’ state-of-the art molding facility in Wuhan, China.

(Shanghai, China – April 17, 2008) GLS Corporation, which was recently acquired by PolyOne Corporation (NYSE: POL), is a global leader in the manufacture of high-performance, custom-formulated thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs). Today the company announced at Chinaplas 2008, the introduction of a new phthalate-free TPE in its specialty VERSAFLEXTM TPE product line. The new product, called VERSAFLEX CL E95 TPE, addresses recent regulations limiting phthalate-based plasticizers and a growing market demand for low-extractable TPEs. This new phthalate-free, plasticizer-free TPE offers water-clarity, sterilization capability, and low extractables. It is well-suited for a range of packaging applications, including FDA-compliant food packaging, drug storage and delivery systems, bottles, containers, cosmetic applications, and infant care products. Other applications include a variety of extruded tubing and films, blow-molded bags, and face masks. Samples of the new material are on display here in GLS booth # W2J11, Hall 2.

With OnFlexTM-S HF TPE-S compounds – featuring a unique, patent-pending formulation – customers can easily upgrade from conventional, halogenated flame-retardant TPEs without retooling or sacrificing performance. At booth # W2J11 in Hall 2, GLS will be showcasing the new OnFlex-S HF compounds together with the low smoke, free of halogen (LSFOH) family of compounds for wire & cable applications. This expanded product portfolio demonstrates the company’s focus on new technologies that enable customers to comply with increasingly stringent regulatory requirements.
