JERICHO, N.Y. - 19 June 2008 – Orfit Industries America today announced the expansion of its North American operations to give hospital-based and freestanding cancer centers faster access to their high-precision patient immobilization systems which use Efficast® thermoplastic masks. The company, whose technology is used in 75 percent of European radiation therapy facilities, is rapidly expanding in North America to meet demand for its products. Radiation therapy clinicians and radiation therapists who wish to improve treatment outcomes and increase patient comfort are upgrading to the superior immobilization performance and ease of use of Efficast masks.

Chemtura Corporation (NYSE:CEM) will increase the price of Weston®, Mark®, and Naugard® phosphite antioxidants and stabilizers by $0.40-$0.60/kg, effective for all deliveries on or after June 10, 2008, or as contracts allow. The price increase is necessary to recover the unprecedented increases in the costs of phosphorus-based chemicals.

URMOND (NL) – 16 June 2008 – At this year’s Eurosatory, the International Land, Airland, Homeland Defence Exhibition in Paris, 16 - 20 June 2008, DSM Dyneema announced its new technology platform that will extend the material choice for vehicle protection of the future. This follows DSM’s recent announcement of a 450 million USD investment in its Dyneema® business. This new technology platform is currently under evaluation for key vehicle protection programs before becoming commercially available. Products derived from it will allow armor designers and decision makers to balance the requirements for better performing vehicles, increased payloads, and room for future weight growth. In addition, they will address the need for better protection against the most dangerous and emerging threats today.

URMOND (NL), 18 June 2008 - DSM Dyneema and the university hospital Maastricht (azM), The Netherlands, today announced a joint agreement to conduct research into new solutions that can improve surgical outcomes for patients with spinal deformities. Combining the materials technology of DSM Dyneema with the clinical expertise of the university, this project aims to develop new solutions that support the trend toward minimally invasive procedures as well as the need for preservation of mobility. The project team will focus on leveraging Dyneema Purity®, an Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene fiber offering maximum strength and minimum weight, to enhance post-operative mobility and quality of life for surgery patients as a result. Furthermore, the high strength-to-weight ratio of Dyneema Purity® enables device miniaturization to support minimally invasive surgical techniques that promote faster recuperation and reduced scarring.
