Clariant acquires Nano-Silver Ink Technology from Bayer
Muttenz, April 2, 2013 - Swiss specialty chemicals group Clariant International AG acquired the nano-silver ink technology platform developed under the trademark Bayink® from Bayer Group (Germany). The transaction comprises all patents, know-how and materials related to Bayer's nano-silver ink technology. Clariant will continue to work closely with existing customers and cooperation partners to further develop nano-silver inks and its applications. "The acquisition will strengthen our portfolio of new materials for the electronics and energy markets", said Christian Kohlpaintner, Member of the Executive Committee.

AVERY DENNISON’S BOTTLE-TO-BOTTLE LABEL WINS SOCIETY OF PLASTIC ENGINEERS 2013 ENVIRONMENTAL AWARD
MENTOR, Ohio (April 1, 2013) – Avery Dennison Corporation (NYSE:AVY), a global leader in the label and packaging industry, won the Society of Plastic Engineers (SPE) 2013 Environmental Award in the Design for Sustainability category for its Bottle-to-Bottle Portfolio of labeling materials, which dramatically improves the recycling of polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
Konstantynów Łódzki, March 15, 2013 - Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, was joined by distinguished guests for the groundbreaking of its new plant in Konstantynów Łódzki, Poland. The ceremony held on site was attended by the Swiss ambassador, and representatives of local authorities and the Łódź Special Economic Zone as honorary guests. The new, modern plant will commence production of color concentrates for producers of plastic materials one year from now. The investment, worth CHF 11.3 million, will allow Clariant to increase production capacity and strengthen its position on Polish and European markets. 
Muttenz, March 15, 2013 - Clariant, a world leader in Specialty Chemicals, has broken the ground for its new investment in Konstantynów Łódźki, Poland. The new building covers an area about 6'800 square meters and will include new production site, laboratory and warehouse as well as Clariant offices. The investment, worth CHF 11.3 million, will enable Clariant to double the production capacity of color concentrates for its Business Unit Masterbatches and also to create new job opportunities. 
Quadrant Engineering Plastic Products (EPP) has updated its range of Food Grade Plastics in line with the new European Union Regulation (EU) 10/2011. The move makes Quadrant EPP the first and only engineering plastics´ manufacturer to offer such a broad and fully-tested range of thermoplastic stock shapes complying with the regulation.
