DSM and Ravago partnership introduces portfolio of recycled PA compounds
Royal DSM, the global Life Sciences and Materials Sciences company, has announced that it has expanded its partnership with the Ravago Group, a leader in distribution, resale, compounding and recycling of plastic and elastomeric raw materials. The two companies have combined DSM’s expertise in polyamide 6 with Ravago’s recycling know-how to develop a portfolio of glass reinforced recycled PA6 compounds. The materials will be offered by DSM directly and distributed by Ravago Group member Resinex, which has a leading position in the plastics and rubbers distribution market across Europe and Turkey, and which is already a well-established distributor of DSM engineering plastics.

Perstorp presents Akestra™ - a new plastic alternative
The Perstorp Group, a world leader in specialty chemicals, will be presenting the next generation of co-polyesters at K Fair 2013. This will include Akestra™, a high performance plastic with remarkable properties. Perstorp have formed a strategic partnership with Mitsubishi Gas Chemical to develop and distribute this exciting co-polyester throughout Europe. On a long term, this will result in both companies jointly establishing the most competitive production platform in Europe for the raw material used in these co-polyesters.
Ghent, Belgium - At K 2013 (16-23 October 2013, Düsseldorf, Germany), Kiefel, SML, Braskem and Milliken will combine their machine and material innovations to bring the powerful material substitution possibilities of Clear Polypropylene (PP) to life. Highly transparent, deep-draw cups produced live by Kiefel on its productivity-boosting systems will let visitors experience first-hand the exceptional high clarity and performance that can be achieved with Braskem's Inspire 224 PP containing Milliken's innovative clarifying agent, Millad® NX8000™.

The two companies have developed a lightweight multi-functional crankshaft cover in EcoPaXX®, DSM's bio-based polyamide 410, for the latest generation of diesel engines developed by the Volkswagen Group.
