Polymer Technology & Services expands Tristar® range of flame retardant polycarbonates
Murfreesboro, TN - November 2, 2016 - Polymer Technology & Services, LLC (PTS), a global manufacturer of flame retardant engineering thermoplastic compounds, is extending its TRISTAR® family of polycarbonate-based materials with four halogen-compliant types certified 746R and 746H by Underwriters Laboratories, UL. The new grades are intended for electrical and telecommunication devices, business machines, and small and large appliances. They will be available in Europe, North America and Asia.

Avery Dennison® helps label converters target heavy industrial segments
OEGSTGEEST, the Netherlands — November 1, 2016 — A Heavy Industrial Labelling™ range from Avery Dennison's Select Solutions™ portfolio is giving label converters easy access to new specialized markets. Materials in the range are capable of labelling metal plates, bars and coils early in production, thanks to exceptional high-temperature performance all the way from room temperature up to +500°C.
Ghent, Belgium - At the K 2016 trade fair in Germany, specialty chemicals supplier Milliken & Co. plans to showcase a variant of its well-established Millad® NX™ 8000 clarifying additive for polypropylene that it has tailored for use in the extrusion blow molding (EBM) process. This new additive performs significantly better in higher melt-flow-rate (MFR) grades of PP, and yields excellent results in both optics and productivity.

Brussels, October 20, 2016 - The PlasticRoad concept, first introduced in 2015 by KWS, entails recycling plastic waste into lightweight modules with hollow interiors that can be fitted with cables and plastic pipes and allow excess water to drain. The pre-fabricated units will be easy to transport, assemble and maintain, and the lighter weight means the ground will be less prone to subsidence. The objective is to create a road with a smaller ecological footprint than traditional road systems. When the elements reach their end of life expectancy they can be recycled again, contributing to a circular economy and cleaner environment.
