SABIC’s new PP extrusion line is now operational in the Netherlands
Sittard, The Netherlands, December 18, 2017 - SABIC, a global leader in the chemical industry announced today the start-up of its new Polypropylene (PP) extrusion facility in Geleen, The Netherlands. This new extrusion line adopts state-of-the-art process technology to produce SABIC® PP products and the next generation PP copolymers and underlines the company’s drive to provide advanced materials that can support customers developing new lightweight applications in industries such as packaging, appliances, automotive, healthcare and help them reduce energy consumption in their process manufacturing.
SITTARD, THE NETHERLANDS, November 29, 2017 - Close collaboration with our partners in the value chain has enabled SABIC to build up a large bank of knowledge on foaming technologies, and to develop a dedicated, diverse global foam portfolio, applicable in almost all industrial applications. SABIC is adding to this portfolio with the launch of its SABIC® PP-UMS (Ultra Melt Strength) resin – a completely new generation of melt strength polypropylenes. 
EconCore will be presenting its innovative technology for the continuous production of honeycomb sandwich materials at CAMX 2017, the composites and advanced materials expo taking place in Orlando, FL, on December 12-14. The high-speed, high-efficiency continuous process can produce honeycombs from a wide range of thermoplastics and laminate them in-line with skin materials of various types. The high level of integration helps ensure exceptional cost-effectiveness, not possible with conventional technologies. It is ideal for companies operating in cost-sensitive applications, including automotive and transportation, industrial packaging, and building & construction.
Frankfurt, Germany, November 16, 2017 - SABIC, a global leader in the chemical industry, today introduced to the European market a family of high-performance THERMOCOMP™ AM compounds to address the unique requirements of large format additive manufacturing. Here at Formnext 2017, in stand 3.1-G78, the company is exhibiting these eight new compounds, developed for use in large-format pellet-fed extruders. Print parameters and mechanical property data for the materials – developed by SABIC using test specimens printed on the company’s in-house BAAM® printer – are available to aid customers in expediting material selection and optimizing processing conditions. Because they are reinforced with carbon or glass fibers for added strength, the new THERMOCOMP™ AM compounds can be used for demanding applications in the tooling, aerospace, automotive and defense industries.
Frankfurt, Germany, November 15, 2017 - SABIC, a global leader in the chemical industry, is launching here at Formnext 2017, in stand 3.1-G78, new LEXAN™ EXL AMHI240F filament. This unique product is based on SABIC’s LEXAN™ EXL polycarbonate (PC) copolymer technology, which delivers high impact performance and low-temperature ductility. The new filament addresses the need for higher-performing materials in the industrial sector, and is designed for use in Stratasys® Fortus® Classic industrial printers. It is a potential material of choice for demanding aerospace, consumer electronics and automotive applications. LEXAN™ EXL AMHI240F filament is the first of several new materials with distinctive performance characteristics that the company plans to launch in the coming year.
