Milliken’s Millad® NX™ 8000 Clarifier for Polypropylene Receives Critical Guidance Recognition from the Association of Plastic Recyclers
Milliken Chemical, a division of Milliken & Company, today announced that its Millad® NX™ 8000 clarifying agent for polypropylene (PP) has received Critical Guidance Recognition from the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR). This prestigious recognition for innovative materials validates that the Millad NX 8000 clarifier is compatible with plastic packaging recycling. To date, the Millad NX 8000 additive is the only PP clarifying agent to receive Critical Guidance Recognition from APR, a national trade organization whose efforts are aimed at identifying and eliminating barriers to successful commercial recycling.
SABIC is introducing here today at Automotive Interiors Expo 2019 (Booth #A118) two new LNP™ LUBRICOMP™ compounds, developed to help mitigate buzz, squeak and rattle (BSR) noises in vehicle cabins. These injection moldable compounds, a polycarbonate/acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (PC/ABS) grade and a polycarbonate/acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (PC/ASA) grade, provide a low-gloss finish to meet general preferences for automotive interior decorative parts. Compared to silicone lubricants, which have the potential to leach out and interfere with paint adhesion, and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) lubricants, which can limit paint choices, the new products feature a proprietary internal lubrication technology and deliver excellent paintability.
SABIC’s latest technical summit on its LNP™ product line of engineering thermoplastic compounds and copolymers concluded successfully this week in Seoul, Korea. Around 100 top decision makers in engineering, design at OEMs, ODMs, tiers and processors joined the event on Tuesday October 15 at the Intercontinental Grand Seoul Parnas. KRAIBURG TPE is supplying thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) for several functional components of the Photon, an innovative educational robot. Two established THERMOLAST® K compounds are being used for the running surfaces as well as the feelers and eyes of the interactive robot. These compounds include a highly transparent product from the FC/ht series that complies with the DIN EN 71-3 toy standard.
