TIELT, BELGIUM – February 22th, 2007 – Development work by Quadrant CMS (Creative Moulding & Systems), in close cooperation with Micropump Inc., has enabled the injection-moulding of pumps-rollers for a high volume application using Ertalyte TX PET-P. These parts were originally machined from extruded bar stock of the same material by Quadrant CMS’ sister company Quadrant EPP (Engineering Plastic Products), a specialist in this field. The change to a more cost-effective processing method for the pump-rollers, the production levels of which increased rapidly over the last few years, was welcomed by Micropump Inc.

Urmond (NL), January 26, 2007 – The “Tribunal de Grande Instance” of Paris, France, has ruled in favor of DSM Dyneema, the inventor and manufacturer of Dyneema®, the world’s strongest fiber™, in a patent infringement lawsuit instituted against Hangzhou Pivot International Co. Ltd., of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China.

DSM Dyneema is pleased to announce that GMG, the manufacturing division of Cooke Aquaculture, a Canadian leader in salmon farming, has selected nets made with ultra-strong Dyneema® fiber to support the company’s expansion into the provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador. Cooke’s Cold Ocean Salmon division has ordered mesh for twenty 150m containment nets made with Dyneema®, manufactured by Badinotti (Italy). The nets, which will be constructed in Canada by GMG, feature the exceptionally strong, lightweight Dyneema® fiber, which makes them easier to handle, prevents fish escapes and extends net life.

TIELT, BELGIUM – December 20 2006 – A multi-part beer-tap system, injection-molded by Quadrant CMS (Creative Moulding & Systems) from polypropylene, is a critical, consumer-interfacing component on the new 5-litre, single-use Draught Keg from Heineken Beer Systems. Its production represents a first venture into the beverage market for Quadrant CMS while pursuing its strategy of developing and producing polymer-based parts for function-critical systems. Heineken opted to work with Quadrant CMS due to the company’s technical ability in injection molding and assembly, high level of automation and partnership approach.

Entitled “The future of Running Rigging”, DSM Dyneema, inventor and manufacturer of Dyneema® fiber, kicked off the METS on November 14th with an industry-first stakeholder dialogue. Leading representatives from the yachting arena, including riggers, rope manufacturers, sailors and press delegates, participated in a panel discussion hosted by DSM Dyneema. Topics focused on the contribution, importance and future development of running rigging.
