HAMBURG, Germany — April 2, 2008 — SABIC Innovative Plastics introduces the new Lexan* XHR6000 (extremely low heat release) sheet to help aircraft manufacturers meet safety, aesthetic, and performance requirements in business- and first-class seating and other interior components, while at the same time improving passenger comfort. This new product fully complies with the Ohio State University (OSU) 65/65 standard and flame/smoke toxicity regulations, avoiding the need for waivers, and providing better weight-out for fuel economy than traditional polyvinyl chloride (PVC/acrylic) sheet products. The new Lexan XHR6000 sheet strengthens SABIC Innovative Plastics’ commitment to provide aviation industry customers with unique and leading-edge solutions that enable their success.

DSM Engineering Plastics recently announced that its XANTAR® C CE 407 resin allows NedTrain, a provider of train car maintenance and overhaul services, to supply state-of-the-art cladding systems for walls and ceilings in passenger coaches. The DSM resin not only provides aesthetic yet durable, and low-maintenance cladding systems, but also complies with strict flame, smoke and toxicity regulations. Further, XANTAR® C CE 407 resin is environmental friendly as it contains the newest flame retardant technology. Finally, this resin helped NedTrain achieve its goal of cost savings in both the production and maintenance of claddings.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 11 December 2007 – Office Depot, one of the world’s largest sellers of office products, has chosen Spring Global Mail as its sole supplier for European mail distribution. The contract, worth EUR 180 million over a three year period, will see Spring managing the distribution of 175 million catalogues each year across ten European countries.

URMOND (NL), 22 November 2007 - DSM Dyneema, maker of ultra-strong, lightweight Dyneema® polyethylene fiber, today announced that COSCO Dalian, a subsidiary of China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company, has selected mooring lines made with Dyneema® fiber for its newest Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC), the Cospearl Lake. Following a successful eight-month sea trial on its Cosmerry Lake VLCC, COSCO Dalian found that, in comparison with steel wire mooring lines, ropes made with Dyneema® enabled a reduction in mooring time and significantly improved crew safety. DSM Dyneema worked closely with COSCO Dalian during the sea trial to document performance of the new ropes.
