More sustainable tires: TotalEnergies’ Cray Valley Affiliate supplies resins (Cleartack® and Ricon®) derived from used cooking oil for synthetic rubber production
TotalEnergies’s Cray Valley Affiliate has signed a new agreement to supply tire manufacturer Continental with ISCC Plus-certified Cleartack® and Ricon® resins. Using a mass balance approach, the Cleartack® and Ricon® resins will enable the increase of renewable materials in the value chain of Continental tires while maintaining the highest level of safety and performance through specific tire tread formulation.

SABIC to highlight at PCIM Asia 2025 specialty dielectric films that address challenges of high-voltage, high-heat electrical applications
SABIC, a global leader in the chemical industry, will showcase at PCIM Asia 2025, in Hall N5, Booth F03, ultra-thin ELCRES™ HTV150 dielectric film that is well suited for capacitors used in demanding electrical applications, including AC-DC inverters in electric vehicles (EVs). Advanced capacitors made with the SABIC film can operate at high temperatures up to 150°C with minimal derating of applied voltage (V). This capability will be discussed in two technical presentations during the event.

Clariant, a sustainability-focused specialty chemical company, today announced that it has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shanghai Boiler Works, a full subsidiary of Shanghai Electric, specializing in energy conversion and the development of new energy applications, to jointly foster innovation in sustainable energy solutions. The partners will combine their expertise to advance green energy projects in China. The agreement is the result of close and successful cooperation in Shanghai Electric’s new biomass-to-green methanol plant in Taonan, Jilin Province, China. In addition to supplying its MegaMax catalysts, Clariant provided technical on-site support during the successful startup of the 50,000 tons/y plant. The second phase of the project, with a capacity of 200,000 tons/y green methanol and 10,000 tons/y SAF, is expected to start production in 2027. The ceremony for the official signing of the partnership contract took place last week at the Clariant Innovation Center in Frankfurt, Germany.
