Belden releases new Eagle 20 Tofino® line of Plug-n-Protect™ industrial security products
At the SPS/IPC/Drives Electric Automation Exhibitions and Conference, Belden will introduce the new Hirschmann™ Eagle 20 Tofino® product line. The new range combines a rugged security appliance with a collection of software modules that together provide practical and effective industrial network security which is simple to implement and does not require plant shutdowns. Suitable for use by the process control and SCADA industries, the Hirschmann Eagle 20 Tofino products provide increased safety, network security and performance of industrial control systems.

Available in three specialized grades for different AC power cord configurations, the new material provides outstanding FR performance that meets global environmental regulations and delivers excellent flexibility with a high-quality surface finish. BERGEN OP ZOOM, The Netherlands – October 23, 2009 – SABIC Innovative Plastics has announced that LTK Industries, a leading Hong Kong-based wire and cable OEM and long-term customer, is driving the use of SABIC Innovative Plastics’ eco-progressive Flexible Noryl* resin into appliance wiring material (AWM) applications used in consumer electronics. The advanced flame-retardant (FR) resin passes the stringent Underwriters Laboratories (UL) VW-1 flame test, and is helping manufacturers like LTK meet tough global requirements for halogen-free parts while delivering a virtually perfect balance of exceptional high-performance properties. By upgrading from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) – which can release hazardous toxins when burned – to Flexible Noryl resin, LTK has further strengthened its position as a leading global provider of wire and cable solutions.
DSM Engineering Plastics has been recognized as a leading solutions provider that supports and enables the electronics industry to move away from chemicals that can lead to health and environmental problems. In a new precedent setting research report “Greening Consumer Electronics: Moving Away from Bromine and Chlorine”, the International Chemical Secretariat (ChemSec) and US based environmental organization Clean Production Action (CPA) identified seven companies who have engineered environmental solutions that negate the need for most - or in some cases all - uses of brominated and chlorinated chemicals. The seven companies include, amongst others, Apple, Sony Ericsson and DSM Engineering Plastics.
Belden has expanded the portfolio of its Hirschmann™ SPIDER products family with a low-cost switch including Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) functionality. The new low-cost HIrschmann™ switch with PoE will be introduced at SPS/IPC/DRIVES in Nürnberg, Hall 10, Stand10-120.
At IBC, held from September 11-15, 2009 at the RAI Exhibition Center in Amsterdam, Belden will showcase a range of new and existing products in Hall 1 at Stand C21.
