Clariant invests for Asian pigments customers
Muttenz, April 23, 2013 - Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, will build a new pigment preparations plant in Indonesia in a series of investments to strengthen on-the-ground support for customers in China, India and Indonesia. The announcement marks another step in Clariant’s significant commitment to support customers in the emerging markets with high quality low VOC pigment preparations complying with eco labeling schemes such as blue angel and equivalent schemes in other regions. The company is investing approximately CHF 8 Million to enhance its capabilities in the region.

DSM opens new manufacturing plant for innovative anti-reflective coating
Royal DSM, the global Life Sciences and Materials Sciences company, has opened its newly constructed manufacturing plant for KhepriCoat® anti-reflective coating at the Chemelot site in Geleen (Netherlands). The need for additional coating supply is a direct result of the fast growing market for solar energy.

GE to Upgrade US Navy Ship, Saving Money and Increasing Efficiency
PARIS — April 18, 2013 — In efforts to extend ship life, increase capability and assure critical operations, the U.S. Navy is refitting its USS Mount Whitney Blue Ridge class command ship. GE’s Power Conversion business (NYSE: GE) has signed a contract worth US$14 million if all options are exercised with Military Sealift Command (MSC) for this three-year, large electrical refit project, which will be one of the largest MSC has ever completed of this type as well as GE Power Conversion’s largest electrical refit project for the U.S. Navy. This project builds on Power Conversion’s recent success with providing equipment for other U.S. Navy ships, including the USS Tripoli (LHA-7), the LHD-8 and the LHA-6.

GE's Power Conversion Business Signs $80 Million in Additional Contracts for Electric Power and Propulsion Systems of LNG Carriers and FSRU
PARIS - April 17, 2013 - GE's Power Conversion business (NYSE: GE) announced today it has been awarded new contracts for orders of electric power and propulsion systems on two liquid natural gas (LNG) carriers and an LNG Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU). In total, GE has signed contracts to supply systems for 26 LNG carriers and five FSRUs. In the last six months alone, the company has signed contracts worth around $80 million.

Tests show Clariant adjuvant boosts speed of foliar penetration by up to 500%
Muttenz, April 17, 2013 - Clariant, a world leader in specialty chemicals, is to present test results showing that its Synergen® OS adjuvant boosts the foliar penetration (after 24 hours) of a broad-leafed herbicide by 5 times compared to the commercial standard. The findings will be presented at the 10th International Symposium on Adjuvants for Agrochemicals (ISAA), to be held in Brazil on 22-26 April 2013.
