Belden Opens Plant in China to Strengthen Service for Global Market

Merck enters into Distribution Agreement with Azelis to Market Candurin® Pearl Effect Colours in Benelux
On July 1, 2014, Merck and Azelis entered into another distribution agreement for Candurin® pearl effect pigments. According to this agreement, Merck will grant the distribution rights for its pigments for the food industry in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg to Azelis, the leading distributor of specialty chemicals and food additives. Apart from logistics, Azelis will be responsible for local customer support and applications technology. In turn, Merck will support Azelis with research and development, training and regulatory matters.

CB&I and Clariant’s Polypropylene Catalyst Partnership off to a Successful Start
Muttenz, July 22, 2014 - CB&I (NYSE:CBI) and Clariant announced today its new Ziegler-Natta (ZN) polypropylene catalyst production plant in Louisville, Kentucky, is on schedule to begin production in 2015. The plant is part of a long-term strategic partnership between Clariant’s Catalysts business unit and CB&I's Lummus Novolen Technology business. Based at Clariant's largest US production hub, the state-of-the-art facility will combine innovative catalysts - jointly developed by both companies with high-capacity output to serve the fast growing polypropylene industry.

DSM to invest in a new plant for high viscosity Akulon® polyamide 6 grades for film and other extrusion applications in North America
Royal DSM, the global Life Sciences and Materials Sciences company, today announces that the company is to invest in a new polymerization plant in North America to manufacture Akulon® polyamide 6 polymer for film grades used in flexible food packaging and other segments. Financial details of the investment will not be disclosed.
