Ascend to showcase new Vydyne® PA66 grade for automotive and European compounding at Fakuma 2018
Ascend Performance Materials, the world’s largest fully integrated producer of polyamide 6,6 resin, will showcase a new grade of its Vydyne® PA66 designed for automotive lightweighting at Fakuma in Friedrichshafen, Germany, from October 16 to 20, 2018. The new grade, Vydyne R433H, is designed to reinforce down-gauged steel and aluminum used in vehicle body in white (BIW) structures, helping reduce weight without sacrificing safety or comfort.

Global specialty chemicals leader Perstorp announces new investors to accelerate the next stage of growth
PAI Partners today announces the transfer of their interest in Perstorp, a global leader in specialty chemicals, from PAI Europe IV to a new fund managed by PAI Partners and backed by Landmark Partners and other co-investors. As a part of the deal, the investors of the new fund have agreed to commit c. EUR 130 million for investment activities to further advance Perstorp’s growth strategy. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

DSM and Starboard collaboration transforms discarded fishing nets from waste into high-end surfboard components
Royal DSM, a global science-based company in Nutrition, Health and Sustainable Living, and Starboard, a world leading Watersports company offering Paddle, Surf, Windsurf and Kiteboards, announced that they are collecting and upcycling discarded fishing nets to create a material for consumer goods such as surfboard components. In doing so the collaboration supports litter-free beaches, a healthier marine environment and creates a positive social impact for local communities in India.
