An innovation from Avery Dennison that enables closed-loop PET recycling has won this year’s FINAT Recycling and Sustainability award. The CleanFlake™ portfolio (video) enables production of high quality recycled PET (rPET) from post-consumer bottles while maintaining all-important visual impact and food contact approval. The portfolio is further reducing environmental impact by using recycled PET liner material.

TE Connectivity right angle X-Code M12 connectors reduce assembly time, increase network performance
TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, has begun offering extremely ruggedized X-Code M12 right angle connectors for field assembly in a range of railway applications. The new connectors enable safe and reliable data transmission speeds of 10Gb/s, even in harsh environments. They conform to the European standard EN45545 governing fire performance of materials and parts in railway applications and are rated IP67 for resistance to dust and liquids, thanks to the use of O-rings.

Mondi accelerates efforts to create flexible packaging from post-consumer recycled plastic
Mondi Group, a global leader in packaging and paper, led Project Proof, a Pioneer Project facilitated by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation (EMF). The project has created a proof-of-concept prototype flexible plastic pouch incorporating a minimum of 20% post-consumer plastic waste originating from mixed household waste. The pouch is suitable for packaging household products such as detergent.
