BENEO investeert zes miljoen euro in droogwals voor zetmeel
BENEO, een toonaangevende fabrikant van functionele ingrediënten voor voeding, diervoeder en de farmaceutische industrie, investeert zes miljoen euro om de droogwals capaciteit van de fabriek in Wijgmaal (Leuven) uit te breiden en zo de toenemende vraag naar gespecialiseerde rijstzetmeelingrediënten bij te houden. In een nieuwe ruimte van 1000 m2 wordt een gloednieuwe droogwals geïnstalleerd om de capaciteit voor de productie van clean label voorgekookt (of koudwater-oplosbaar) rijstzetmeel met gespecialiseerde eigenschappen/extra voordelen met 50% te vergroten. De investering creëert ook zes nieuwe voltijdse banen in de fabriek, die nu al 200 mensen tewerkstelt en fier is op haar 160-jarige traditie in Wijgmaal.

Solvay and Zotefoams Sign Long-Term Supply Agreement for Advanced Cellular Material Solutions in Aerospace Based on Solef® PVDF
Solvay, a global market leader in polymer and composite materials, signed a long-term agreement with Zotefoams, the world’s largest manufacturer of lightweight cross-linked polyolefin block foams and a specialist in innovative technical foams, for the supply of Solef® polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF). Solef® will be used to produce Zotefoams’ ZOTEK® F high-performance closed cell crosslinked aerospace foam range. The collaboration will target a wide range of interior applications in aerospace including ducting, carpet underlay, environmental control systems and insulation, where low weight, high flame retardancy and cost-effective processability are paramount.

Jointly developed by Clariant and Casale, the catalyst features exceptional activity, stability, and energy efficiency. These benefits have been confirmed at the ammonia production facilities of Nutrien in Trinidad and Tobago, Mosaic in the USA, and YARA Sluiskil in the Netherlands. Based on plant data, all sites report superior catalyst performance with significant reductions in energy and production costs.
