Axxicon Mould Technology: shaping your ideas
Axxicon Mould Technology has announced its intention to focus on the production of Customer Specified Moulds. At the same time, the company which has a leadership position in industrial engineered mould solutions, will continue to produce and expand its comprehensive range of standardised moulds for optical disc replication, SmartCard markets and the manufacture of plastic test specimens.
Axxicon CEO, Arno Wendrich, said: “We have defined these specific market segments because we know that we can make a significant difference for customers in these industries which we have already served for many years.”
Mr. Wendrich added: “Axxicon is able to offer extreme accuracy and guaranteed repeatability for globally operating companies. We can bring unique solutions to even the most difficult product engineering challenges with exceptionally short lead times. Using highly advanced robotic systems and strict quality assurance guidelines Axxicon Mould Technology is able to deliver proven lifetime durability, highest yields and lowest cost of ownership.”
Customer specified moulds
Building on its extensive experience in developing customer specified moulds, Axxicon Mould Technology is set to use its skills and know-how to develop the best possible customised moulds for high-end disposables, infocom and pharmaceuticals / medical devices.
• High-end disposables
Axxicon Mould Technology is a worldwide supplier of mould systems for the production of high-end disposables, concentrating on supplying bicolour moulds, unscrewing moulds and in-mould closing moulds. In the disposables industry, added product value is dictated by content rather than the component itself so the lowest cost per shot is crucial. Axxicon moulds achieve high mould productivity and the lowest cost of ownership through realising low cycle times, cap closure within the mould as well as high reliability and uptime.
• Infocom
The Infocom market requires complex plastic components with first class cosmetic appearance and critical dimensional accuracy. And product life cycles are extremely short. Axxicon Mould Technology offers effective mould design, engineering and manufacturing of customer specified moulds in an industrial way to help substantially reduce time to market. In addition, Axxicon Mould Technology offers you expertise in very complex moulds for front- and back covers, battery lids and optical parts like windows. Global part-to-part consistency, 100% cavity to cavity interchangeability and repeat mould series for world products.
• Pharmaceuticals/Medical devices
Axxicon Mould Technology has developed high performance multi-cavity moulds for a wide range of pharmaceutical and medical devices. Working in close cooperation with customers from all over the world Axxicon Mould Technology develops moulds for medical devices that comply with the most stringent requirements.
Standardised moulds
In addition to its new focus on customer specified moulds, Axxicon Mould Technology will continue to produce and develop its complete range of proprietary modular mould systems for high speed production of standardised products. Key amongst these are:
• Optical storage
Axxicon Mould Technology is world leader in mould systems for the production of CDs, DVDs and related products for optical data storage. The Axxicon CD mould, first developed in the 1980s, is still setting the standard in disc replication. With strong industry growth and the development of new formats such as DVD, Axxicon has expanded its range of moulds for the production of all types of optical media and data storage systems.
• SmartCards
Axxicon Mould Technology is the world leader in SmartCard moulds and systems for a variety of applications. The proprietary Axxicon SmartCard injection moulding system for 2, 4 and 8 cavities single face as well as stack injection of SmartCard bodies is used extensively in infocom (pay
