Meeting customer needs:
Belden introduces cable assembly service for total solutions

In addition to its unique range of high performance cables, Belden now also offers a cable assembly service, where cables and connectors are assembled and tested according to customer specifications.

Handled as a complete turn-key project, with minimum customer involvement, cables are assembled according to agreed specification, tested to ensure fail-safe performance and delivered wherever they are needed. Saving customers’ time and money.

The new cable assembly service is set to combine the quality of Belden products with engineering and industry expertise. As the world’s most prominent manufacturer of cable products, Belden has an unmatched understanding of customer needs and a detailed knowledge of available solutions.

Belden’s Marketing Manager Entertainment Europe, Werner Eich says: “Our in-depth understanding is frequently applied to support customers – to provide either a sounding-board for engineering staff or to help deliver a complete solution. By introducing the Belden cable assembly service, we can make sure that customers receive the right cable for every application – large or small.”

The 1505F deserves a special mention! This is the focus product for Video Cords one of five products at the Brilliance Assemblies™ product range. A super high flex coax that we've developed for digital patch panel cabling requirements Perfect for rack wiring, OB vans, satellite headends, CCTV as well. The 1505F is dressed in a soft matte PVC jacket and comes with two tinned copper braids with a unique compacted stranded central conductor.

This combines the flexibility borne from its stranded design to stability and RL performance that come right from its solid core and the 1505F is fully sweep tested to 4.5GHz.

Brilliance Assemblies™ are put together using true 75 Ohm connectors that perform to the very highest levels again and again. Nominal 75 Ohm connectors can cause high BER and significantly reduce transmission distance. 1505F is available with the following connectors: BNC for analog & digital video, patchcords, CCTV, satellite uplink/downlink, Telecom)RCA (for audio or video, projectors, digital audio (S/PDIF) Subwoofer, analog audio and composite video) F (for cable TV, satellite and antenna) connectors.

Second product is the RGB patch cord. RGB cables are used for component video formatted applications that segment the video signal into red, green and blue elements, identified through use of corresponding cable jacket colors (RGB cables). Synchronization (Sync) and Vertical Hold (Hold) signals can be embedded within one of the elemental video components or they can be transmitted separately utilizing the 4th and 5th coaxes. When present, the 4th coax has a yellow jacket; the 5th coax has a black jacket. The outer jacket of the Brilliance Assemblies™ line is stripped back 150 mm of both ends. The unique design of these cables also makes them ideal for multiple runs of composite video signals such as SDI or HDTV (video snake cable). The Brilliance Assemblies™ line are ideal for analog & digital video, RGB(S, H/V) component video, video walls, hi-res projectors, CAD workstations.

Third product is Brilliance Assemblies™ triax line assembled with ADC's ProAx™ triaxial camera connectors. This combination will change the way you think about triaxial assemblies. ADC's patented ProAx™ triaxial camera connector has a two-piece center conductor with several outstanding possibilities. For instance: in just a few seconds gender parts can be swapped back and forth between males and females, in the same speed you can change mates with Kings, Lemo, Fischer and Damar+Hagen designs. The Brilliance Assemblies™ line are ideal for field use, sporting/live events, mobile trucks, stadiums, fixed wiring, TV/Studio production.

Forth is the new CatSnake™ (flexible Cat5E). The round PVC jacket provides durability and the cable ends are assembled with Neutrik's EtherCon™. It was developed to provide a comprehensive solution for data transfer in harsh and demanding applications. CatSnake™ assembly is particularly suitable for Ethernet networking in commercial audio, concert sound reinforcement, stage production, DMX lighting and industrial internet access environments.

Fifth is a Brilliance Assemblies™ SMPTE 311 copper/fiber comibation cable. With the rise of high-definition video applications, such as 1080i and 720p, the bandwidth demands on camera cables became seriously large. Brilliance Assemblies™ offer for that new generation 7804C, which consist of dual single-mode fiber optic cables and copper components for power and data, and a special connector made by Lemo.

To fulfill the market requirements we are able to deliver our Brilliance Assemblies™ with other popular Belden cables, see more details in our catalog.
