Eastman Presents NutriLayer in a Bold, New Way
New innovative cosmetic and packaging concept
CAPELLE A/D IJSSEL, THE NETHERLANDS - NutriLayer, Eastman’s natural ingredient for cosmetic and personal care applications, has been presented in Europe using an innovative «Bb» cosmetic and packaging concept at Luxe Pack in Monaco.
The «Bb»concept features a prototype lotion formulated with NutriLayer and packaged using Eastman’s Glass Polymer material, designed to evoke childhood memories.
NutriLayer, introduced in Europe and the Americas earlier this year, and most recently in Asia Pacific, is a premium natural ingredient derived from non-genetically modified (non-GMO) rice bran oil. NutriLayer provides moisturizing, antioxidant and soothing benefits making the ingredient ideal in a variety of cosmetic and personal care formulations.
«Bb» packaging features a thick-walled and elegant bottle manufactured by industry-leader Rebhan using Eastman’s high-gloss, transparent Glass Polymer. Strategic partners also include Eurofragance, which supplied a citrus lavender scent, and Pfeiffer, manufacturer of the elegant Cremosa dispensing closure, designed by Dieter Bakic.
“Eastman is a supplier that can handle both packaging and ingredients for cosmetic and personal care products -- an innovative and exciting step forward for both industries,” said Jim McCaulley, Ph.D., Eastman’s global market development manager for personal care ingredients.
“The «Bb» concept demonstrates not only the versatility of NutriLayer as an ingredient for lotions and creams, but also highlights how Eastman works across its areas of expertise to deliver innovation to its customers.”
NutriLayer is extracted from non-GMO rice bran oil and is rich in nutrients that provide multiple skin care benefits. Refined using a patent-pending process, NutriLayer delivers the essential, highly concentrated moisturizing and antioxidant benefits of rice bran oil. Ideal for rich night creams and lighter day creams and lotions, it forms a protective barrier on the skin that binds water, effectively locking in moisture at even low concentrations.
“Differentiation is key in personal care” said Valerie Bouvignies, cosmetics and personal care marketing for Eastman, Europe. “The combination of innovative packaging and ingredients positions Eastman to deliver differentiation to brand owners on both fronts.”
