Biographie A.C. Brisimitzakis
Angelo C. Brisimitzakis is executive vice president of flame retardants and brominated performance products for Great Lakes Chemical Corporation, a $1.5 billion dollar global specialty chemical company.
In this role, Angelo oversees all activity related to the development of bromine-, phosphorus-, and antimony-based flame retardants and synergists widely used in the plastics industry; fire-resistant fluids and lubricants for use in industrial applications; clear brine fluids for oil and gas exploration; and bromine-based fumigants utilized in soil, crop, and structural pest control applications.
He also has overall responsibility for GLCC Laurel, LLC, the company’s joint venture for the production of antimony-based flame retardant, synergists, and catalysts
Angelo joined the company in 1998 as vice president, global supply chain, following 14 years at General Electric Corporation, where he held leadership positions in sales, technology, business development, supply chain, and business management functions.
He earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from New York University and an M.B.A. in Marketing from NYU/Pace University.
